At Somfy, We act for Green

2018, the company is mobilized around a global approach of eco-responsibility, We Act for Green. It is organized around three pillars: Green buildings, Green products, Green teams.

GREEN BUILDINGS

We act in favour of more efficient buildings and for the wellbeing of their inhabitants.

We aim to improve people’s living environment by meeting their expectations in terms of comfort, security and energy savings

GREEN PRODUCTS

We act in favour of eco-designed products.

In 2019, we target 50% of our products sold with our eco-design approach "Act for green®" and 80% in 2020.

Act for green, The purpose

Rethink the Products conception for a more sustainable future

Act for Green® is Somfy's voluntary initiative, which aim to reduce environmental impact of products all along their life cycle : from extraction of raw materials to end of life.

Act for Green® is the insurance of products of quality respecting eco design requirements.  

Power consumption

The standby power consumption of our motorisations has been reduced to less than 0.5 Watt.

Resources

Some old electronic components technologies identified as very impacting are prohibited in remote controls.

Durability

Motorisations : In case of rework and/or soft update, electronic cards can be dismantled at the factory.
Remote controls : Our products resist to falls and shocks according to internal standard.

Chemical substances

The compliance with the european RoHS directive and REACH regulation are tested by external laboratory.

Packaging

Removal of polystyrene and PVC wedges:
• Minimum of 50% recycled cardboard.
• 100% instruction guides made with recycled paper.

Environmental statement

An online environmental statement PEPecopassport® is made for our products and verified externally by Bureau Veritas.
